BROTHERHOOD

WHAT IS FREEMASON?

Freemasonry, or Masonry, is the world’s oldest and most enduring fraternal organization. Its roots reach back to the skilled stonemasons and cathedral builders of the Middle Ages but its influence and relevance are still deeply felt in the lives of millions of men around the world today.

Freemasonry is passed down through generations by way of meaningful ceremonies and degrees. These time-honored traditions aren’t just rituals they’re a guide for living a principled life, built on the core values of brotherly love, relief, and truth. They shape character, foster lifelong friendships, and inspire members to lead lives of purpose.

Every year, in cities and towns across America, thousands of men choose to walk this path. Men of honor and compassion. Of duty and dedication. Each taking a vow to grow, to give back, and to live with intention not just to be a good man, but to be a Mason.

FREEMASON

WHO WE ARE

What It Means to Be a Freemason
A Freemason is a man who has made a solemn commitment to live by the enduring values of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth. But being a Freemason goes far beyond these foundational principles. It’s about personal growth, lifelong learning, and a deep sense of responsibility not only to oneself, but to others.
Freemasons strive to better themselves and their communities, and they take seriously their role in helping and mentoring fellow Brothers on that same journey. Freemasonry attracts men who are inspired to be part of something greater than themselves men who respect tradition, lead with compassion, and work toward building a better tomorrow.

Freemasonry is structured around three degrees:

Entered Apprentice
Fellowcraft
Master Mason

CORE VALUE

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Freemasonry is guided by core values rooted in compassion, tolerance, and respect for all people. Freemasons are committed to living with integrity and treating others with dignity, regardless of background or belief. Importantly, membership in the fraternity is never used to pursue personal, political, professional, religious, or secular agendas. Freemasonry stands apart as a space dedicated to character, brotherhood, and the betterment of humanity.

The Three Tenets Of Freemasonry Include;

BROTHERLY LOVE

Devotion to and caring for each and our community.

Relief

Concern for and selfless giving to those in distress.

Truth

Using Knowledge, honesty, and understanding to build ourselves

FELLOWCRAFT

Fellowcraft is a term used by the ancient Guilds of Operative Masons that refers to skilled members of the craft – a literal ‘fellow of the craft.’ Within Freemasonry, the Fellowcraft references a more advanced search for Masonic wisdom, symbolism, and philosophy.

ENTERED APPRENTICE

As a candidate’s first experience with the ceremonies of the fraternity, this degree is intended to be an introduction to Masonry. It is, like all Masonic ceremonies, a solemn and meaningful event. The Entered Apprentice is entrusted with secrets of the Masonic Order, which are all moral and ethical in nature, and is expected to honor them in accordance with Masonic law.
